Why Solo-Travelling Is A Must Do On Our Bucket List

— Dhara Vadher

“Solo traveling is not everyone’s cup of tea.”
I have heard this line from so many people, which makes it true to an extent. People are always wondering: “How can you travel solo? And what is the purpose of it anyway? Who will you laugh with? With whom will you enjoy your meals? Is it not awkward to be at the breakfast table all alone?”

But what if I tell you that everyone should travel at least once in their life, and I can give you multiple reasons for that. Here are some of them:

1. Soul-searching :
Soul-searching; sounds heavy, does it not? Almost all of us are beginning to understand the term “SOUL“, but still have difficulty comprehending it properly. I, myself, do not exactly know, but to me, “SOUL” is knowing your truest self. While traveling, we are very much closer to nature and disconnected from our daily stress. Isn’t it the best time to search for who we are and what we exactly want from life?

2. Emotional realization :
Have you ever noticed that we lack emotional transparency with our loved ones? I myself can be more emotionally expressive to strangers, and I do not think there is anything wrong with that. We have a fear of being judged by the people we know, and this fear ultimately tends to leave our emotions bottled up, this is especially true in case of  men. So, I want you to connect with the people you know and love and release your emotional baggage.

3. Freedom :
Who doesn’t want freedom? Freedom is to be yourself; freedom of doing whatever you want to do and going wherever you want to go and yup, this is the fun side. You can roam with strangers and make memories that last a lifetime.

4. Clarity :
“You need to be certain it’s what you want before you commit.” I have read those self-realizing words from “EAT PRAY LOVE” – a book by Elizabeth Gilbert. And you know what I have done since then? I took a bus to nowhere and came back with drastic yet must-have life decisions.
